On Monday, Day 682 of the ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, medical sources in Gaza hospitals reported that more than 58 Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation fire in southern Gaza since dawn Sunday, including 38 starving civilians who were seeking humanitarian aid, alongside a rising death toll from starvation and malnutrition, which has now claimed the lives of at least 263 people, including 112 children.

Local media sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched three airstrikes on the Al-Amal neighborhood in northwestern Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

Medical staff at Al-Aqsa Hospital confirmed that five Palestinians were killed and many more wounded by Israeli fire in the southeastern outskirts of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

Also in Deir Al-Balah, Al-Aqsa Hospital reported two additional fatalities from Israeli gunfire in the southeastern outskirts of the city, along with the death of one Palestinian and several injuries when the army targeted civilians awaiting humanitarian aid east of Deir al-Balah.

In another attack, the Kuwait Field Hospital confirmed that a child was killed, and several others injured when Israeli forces shelled a tent sheltering displaced families in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

Palestinian child Ismail Halas (image featured above), four months old, is one of thousands of Palestinian children currently suffering from acute malnutrition caused by Israel’s systematic policy of forced starvation on the Gaza Strip.

Four Palestinians were reportedly killed and others injured as Israeli occupation forces struck displacement tents in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Israeli occupation forces detonate booby-trapped robots east of Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza.

Additionally, drone fire was reported in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza City, where Israeli forces targeted residential homes, killing four Palestinians, including journalist Islam Al-Komi, and wounding many more.

Local media documented injuries resulting from artillery shelling near Abu Sharia Square in the same area, before tanks and armored vehicles invaded and surrounded Sabra School and the UNRWA clinic.

In addition, a WAFA News correspondent reported that journalist Islam al-Komi was killed in an Israeli artillery attack on the Sabra neighborhood, while a female citizen was killed and others were injured when the Israeli occupation targeted the al-Ghazi family’s home in the same neighborhood.

This evening, the Sabra neighborhood witnessed an incursion by occupation forces into several areas, besieging Al-Sabra School and the UNRWA clinic, amid intense reconnaissance flights.

The Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City remains under nonstop Israeli shelling, with multiple strikes reported over the last few hours.

Furthermore, two citizens were killed when the occupation forces targeted those waiting for humanitarian aid east of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

Amidst the continuous Israeli destruction of the medical sector in Gaza, including targeting heath facilities, blocking essential medical supplies, detaining and killing medical workers and civil defense personnel, and blocking rescue efforts; the U.S. suspends Gaza residents from visas for lifesaving medical treatment.

In a shocking incident, the family of Palestinian young woman Bisan Fadl Mohammad Fayyad discovered that she is still alive, after previously believing she had been killed during her arrest by the Israeli occupation.

On January 7, 2024, the family received a body said to be their daughter’s and buried it amid the grief of loss.

However, eight months later, it was revealed that Bisan is alive and that the body they received did not belong to her.

The Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared described the incident as a stark example of the occupation’s policy of enforced disappearance against Palestinians in Gaza.

The center called for the immediate disclosure of Bisan’s whereabouts, provision of proper medical care, and accountability for the double crime committed against her and her family. The center noted that this case is not isolated but part of an ongoing pattern of violations affecting hundreds of forcibly disappeared Palestinians.

Update: A Palestinian elderly man, Saber Mohammad Az-Zamily, 75, was killed in Khan Younis after sustaining critical injuries when an aid box fell onto tents sheltering displaced families in the al-Mawasi area, according to medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex.

Separately, a Palestinian civilian was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, a source at the Baptist Hospital confirmed.

Update: Three Palestinians were killed and several others wounded on Monday after Israeli occupation forces opened fire in southern Gaza.

Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis confirmed the arrival of three civilians who were fatally shot by Israeli forces while waiting for humanitarian aid.

Separately, Al-Awda Hospital reported receiving ten wounded civilians following Israeli targeting of aid-seekers near a distribution point on Salah al-Din Road, south of Wadi Gaza in the central region of the enclave.

The Israeli army fired barrages of missiles, shells, and live rounds at various parts of the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Rafah, in the southern and southernmost parts of the coastal enclave.

Separately, Israel’s public broadcaster reported that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi approved plans for the military occupation of Gaza City on Sunday evening.

Following the announcement, the Israeli army stated it would begin procedures to evacuate residents from targeted areas starting Sunday night.

On the ground, Israeli occupation forces advanced into areas in southern and eastern Gaza City ahead of the formal approval of the invasion plans. Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance groups targeted Israeli soldiers and military vehicles along the axes of incursion.

Medical sources confirmed that three Palestinians, including a child, were killed and many others wounded in an Israeli bombing of a building, housing displaced families in the Directorate of Education in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City.

In addition, a Palestinian fisherman was killed by Israeli army fire while trying to fish to feed his hungry family near Gaza city shore.

Furthermore, a Palestinian woman was killed, and several Palestinians injured, in an Israeli bombing of a home in Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Many Palestinians were also killed and injured in Israeli bombings of the Al-Bureij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

The Israeli army also continued targeting Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid, especially near the Netzarim Junction, in central Gaza, causing several injuries.

Also, a Palestinian woman was injured when soldiers fired live rounds at displaced families in Mawasi Khan Younis.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced Monday that additional Palestinians have died because of starvation, while hospital sources confirmed that 57 civilians were killed by Israeli military fire across multiple areas of the besieged enclave on Sunday alone.

According to the ministry, seven individuals, including two children, died within the past 24 hours due to severe malnutrition, raising the total number of starvation-related deaths to 258, among them 110 children.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s Government Media Office accused Israeli authorities of pursuing a systematic policy of engineered starvation and slow death targeting over 2.4 million Palestinians, including more than 1.2 million children.

In an official statement, the office said Israel is deliberately starving over 100,000 children and patients by blocking the entry of essential food supplies into Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis, and endangering the lives of the most vulnerable.

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) warned Sunday that at least 500,000 Palestinians in Gaza are teetering on the brink of famine, as Israel’s ongoing military siege continues to obstruct humanitarian access.

In a statement posted on X, the WFP stressed that “the aid reaching Gaza remains far below what’s needed,” adding that food distribution, hot meal provision, and the operation of supported bakeries cannot resume without a significant increase in humanitarian supplies.

The agency underscored that a ceasefire is the only viable path to scaling up relief efforts and preventing mass starvation in the besieged enclave.

The WFP confirmed it is making every possible effort to deliver food assistance to those in need across Gaza. However, current aid levels remain critically insufficient, covering only 47% of the agency’s daily operational target.

WFP emphasized that organized food distribution, hot meal provision, and the operation of supported bakeries cannot resume without a substantial increase in humanitarian supplies.

Amnesty International has accused Israel of implementing a deliberate policy of starvation in the Gaza Strip, describing it as a systematic strategy aimed at dismantling Palestinian society and destroying public health.

In a newly released statement, the organization cited fresh testimonies that provide compelling evidence of Israel’s intentional use of starvation as a weapon against civilians.

These accounts, Amnesty said, reveal the devastating impact of the blockade and military assault on the health and social fabric of Gaza’s population.

The organization condemned the international system for enabling Israel’s actions through decades of near-total impunity, calling the testimonies a stark indictment of global failure to hold Israel accountable.

Amnesty demanded the immediate and unconditional lifting of the blockade on Gaza and the imposition of a permanent ceasefire to prevent further humanitarian collapse.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Walla news outlet, citing military sources, reported that approximately 80,000 Israeli soldiers are expected to take part in the siege of Gaza City. A senior military official warned that the planned ground operation would be extensive and pose significant risks to Israeli forces.

On the political front, Hamas informed mediators from Qatar and Egypt of its acceptance of a proposed ceasefire agreement.

In response, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against what he called “surrendering” to Hamas, claiming that halting the war would be “a generational mistake and a lost strategic opportunity.”

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that Israel’s military plan for Gaza City would have catastrophic humanitarian consequences.

The agency stated that forcibly displacing hundreds of thousands of residents amounts to a recipe for disaster and may constitute forced transfer under international law.

OCHA reaffirmed its commitment to serving Gaza’s population and pledged to remain present in the city to provide support.

It stated that approximately 86% of Gaza’s territory is currently under evacuation orders or designated as military zones. Hospitals in the south are operating far beyond capacity, and the influx of patients from northern Gaza could lead to devastating outcomes.

Humanitarian access remains severely restricted, with urgent calls for unobstructed entry to all areas of Gaza and the immediate delivery of life-saving supplies through all available crossings.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have waged a systematic campaign of extermination against the Palestinian population in Gaza.

The ongoing genocide has so far claimed the lives of at least 61,944 Palestinians, including more than 17,341 children, 10,215 women, and 237 journalists, and injured at least 155,886 others, largely children, women, and the elderly. Starvation in Gaza has also led to the death of at least 258 Palestinians, including 110 children.

These figures remain incomplete, as countless victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lie in the streets, unreachable by emergency and rescue teams due to the relentless bombardment and siege.
