"In Ofer Prison, it doesn't matter if you're guilty, what matters is that you're Palestinian," says Nasser al-Laham, editor of the Ma'an News Agency, who was arrested for his journalistic work. "I was without clothes, and they took a picture and said, 'We'll publish this in Bethlehem so you'll be ashamed.' This isn't Israel, this is Ben Gvir's gang."

Palestinian journalist Nasser al-Laham, editor-in-chief of the Maan news agency and a commentator on the Al-Mayadeen channel, testifies that guards beat, cursed and filmed him naked while he was detained for nine days in Ofer prison for his journalistic work. In an interview with Haaretz, al-Laham, a senior journalist well-known in the Palestinian media, described violence, humiliation and hunger in prison. "It wasn't Israel that arrested me, it wasn't the Israel I knew. This is how they did it in Hitler's camps. Dogs, scabies, they cut off my hair, they stripped me of my clothes. I don't understand how the Jewish state thought to do what the Nazis did to them," he said. "This isn't Israel, this is Ben Gvir's gang." At the same time, he criticizes his colleagues in the Israeli media, who did not write about his arrest and what was done to the Palestinian detainees.

The Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported that the Israeli military arrested its editor-in-chief, Dr. Nasser Laham, on Monday morning at his home in the West Bank.

Laham also manages the West Bank offices of Al-Mayadeen, a Lebanese channel affiliated with Hezbollah.

According to Ma'an, he was arrested overnight by Israeli forces at his home in the village of Al-Duha, near Bethlehem, and the troops caused damage to the house during the arrest.

It was also reported that he is expected to be brought before the Ofer military court on Thursday for a hearing on the extension of his detention. The Israeli military has not yet responded on the matter.

This past May, the Israeli military arrested Palestinian journalist Ali Samoudi at his family's home in Jenin. Samoudi, 58, is a veteran reporter employed by the Al-Quds newspaper and has also worked for various international media outlets over the years.

He was a witness to the 2022 killing of Al Jazeera correspondent Shireen Abu Akleh in Jenin and was himself wounded that same day.
