At least 81 Palestinians were killed and more than 169 were injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza on Monday. Meanwhile, the Israeli military issued an “immediate evacuation order for Khan Younis,” a city in the southern part of the enclave, stating that it was launching an “unprecedented” attack in the area.
The Palestinian Civil Defense said its teams are unable to evacuate many Palestinians from under the rubble due to ongoing bombing and lack of equipment.
Medical sources said one Palestinian was killed and several others injured in an Israeli bombing of the Zawaida area, Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza.
Two Palestinians were also killed, and several others injured, when the army fired a missile at a tent housing a displaced family in the Al-Masha’la area, southwest of Deir Al-Balah.
The sources added that a woman was killed, and several Palestinians were injured when the army bombarded a home in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza city.
In addition, the army detonated many homes east of Khan Younis and north of Gaza using remote-controlled explosive robots, in addition to bulldozing many homes and buildings.
Also, at least two Palestinians were killed, and several others injured, in addition to some who remained under the rubble when the army bombarded a home in the Al-Manara area, southeast of Khan Younis.
In Jabalia, in northwestern Gaza, an Israeli drone fired a missile at Palestinians in the Al-Karma area, killing four Palestinians and causing several injuries.
Earlier Monday, the army committed two massacres when it targeted Fahmi Al-Jarjawi School, where dozens of families were sheltered in Gaza city’s Daraj neighborhood, killing 36 Palestinians, including six children, and in Jabalia town, in northern Gaza, when it bombarded a home, killing nineteen Palestinians, and wounding many, including children and women.
Furthermore, a Palestinian Nurse Ehab Naeem Ali Dumeida has succumbed to his wounds after being injured in an Israeli airstrike on Jabalia, northern Gaza, a few days ago.
In addition, the Israeli army ordered the displaced families to move westward to Al-Mawasi, further expanding the forced displacement in Gaza.
According to the United Nations, more than 80% of Gaza’s territory has been under evacuation orders since October 2023.
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced on social media: “To the residents of Khan Younis and the towns of Bani Suheila, Abasan, and Al-Qarara (east of the city), the Israeli army is carrying out an unprecedented attack.” He added: “Khan Younis is a dangerous combat zone that has been repeatedly warned. Evacuate immediately westward to Al-Mawasi.” However, he clarified that the evacuation order does not apply to Al-Amal and Nasser hospitals.
On May 18, after Israel ended the mediated ceasefire deal, the Israeli military launched a new offensive named “Operation Gideon’s Chariots,” as part of the ongoing genocide in Gaza since October 2023.
The latest military plans reportedly aim to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, according to statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on war crimes charges.
Israel has now killed at least 53,977 Palestinians and wounded more than 122,966, largely children, women, and elderly, since October 7, 2023. Al-Jazeera said that The Government Media Office in Gaza updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying that thousands of people missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
It is estimated that the number of missing Palestinians, largely under the rubble, is more than 11,000. Hundreds of thousands displaced across the destroyed, besieged and starved coastal enclave.
