On Saturday, day 393 of the ongoing Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the cutoff of northern Gaza continued for the 27th straight day with no food, water or medicine able to enter, and hospitals with no power and few supplies. Following the two airstrikes on schools sheltering displaced Palestinians Friday evening (which killed over 20 people and injured dozens more), the Israeli assault did not end after midnight, but continued with more airstrikes leading to more casualties.

Updated at Nov. 2 11:59 pm:

Israeli airstrikes continued throughout the afternoon and evening on Saturday, mainly focused in northern and central Gaza. A number of citizens were killed and injured tonight when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a house in Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City. This follows the earlier massacres in two schools housing displaced refugees earlier in the day (see below).

Local sources reported that a number of citizens were killed and injured as a result of the occupation bombing a house belonging to the Abu Al-Auf family in Tal Al-Hawa, amid appeals for ambulances to head to the place, despite the lack of roads or fuel.

Three Palestinians were killed on Saturday evening in an Israeli airstrike on al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, and northeast of Rafah city, which led to the death of a citizen, coinciding with the launching of the Israeli war helicopter towards the southern areas of the city.

The sources added that the Israeli occupation’s drones launched a raid northeast of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip, which led to the killing of two citizens and the injury of others, in conjunction with the continued artillery shelling of the city and the demolition of houses.

The head of UNICEF, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (@DrTedros) wrote today: “We have received an extremely concerning report that the Sheikh Radwan primary health care centre in northern Gaza was struck today while parents were bringing their children to the life-saving polio vaccination in an area where a humanitarian pause was agreed to allow vaccination to proceed. Six people, including four children, were injured.

“A WHO team was at the site just before. This attack, during humanitarian pause, jeopardises the sanctity of health protection for children and may deter parents from bringing their children for vaccination. These vital humanitarian-area-specific pauses must be absolutely respected. Ceasefire!”

The Israeli occupation artillery also bombed the Baghdad neighborhood in Khirbet Al-Adas, north of Rafah city.

This child, too, is too exhausted to stay awake while waiting for food.

An estimated 400,000 civilians remain in northern Gaza – Israeli forces have blockaded a large part of northern Gaza for the past month, preventing any food, water or aid to enter, and ordering the residents to leave to the designated ‘reservation’ of al-Mawasi in southern Gaza, where Israeli forces also continue their relentless bombardment, and conditions are so crowded that internally displaced refugees are having to build tents right along the sea that are continuously flooded.

Nuseirat after Israeli airstrikesA number of Palestinians were killed and others were injured Saturday before dawn when the Israeli occupation forces targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Medical sources at Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat camp reported that at least three killed Palestinians and a number of injured arrived at the hospital after the Israeli occupation bombed a house belonging to the Al-Assar family north of the camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation artillery also bombed the western region and the vicinity of Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat camp.

In addition, Israeli drones and gunboats opened fire on the Al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah city, in the southern Gaza Strip. The Al-Mawasi area, which did not exist before 6 months ago, was designated by the Israeli military as a so-called “safe zone”. However, it is a tiny area right along the sea, and too many tents are crowded into the small area. The tents are repeatedly being washed into the sea, and the winter rains that have already begun have caused severe flooding and mud throughout the massive refugee camp. In addition, Israeli forces have frequently fired into the camp with gunship and dropped bombs on the tents, causing fires and numerous deaths over the past months.

Some of those who were killed Friday in the massacre of the Abu Nasr family were able to be identified by the Gaza Health Ministry. An estimated 125 bodies remain under the rubble. Here are those who have been identified so far:

Among those killed in the past 24 hours was a young photographer:

Also Saturday morning, Japan’s Ambassador to the State of Palestine, Yoichi Nakashima, said that Japan is studying the possibility of recognizing the Palestinian state in order to achieve peace and stability in the region.

He pointed out that there are attempts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, but Israel prevents its entry, and if some of it is allowed in, it places obstacles in the way of its movement within the Strip.

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea and air since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the killing of 43,314 citizens and the injury of 102,019 others, while thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and rescue teams cannot reach them.
Among the slain Palestinians are at least 17,029 children, 11,585 women, 2,421 elderly people, 177 journalists, 85 emergency responders, 986 medical staff, and 203 UNRWA staff.

The British Lancet Medical Journal and other experts estimate the death toll in Gaza is much higher – and could be above 200,000, when counting both direct and indirect deaths related to the Israeli war on Gaza.

This most recent escalation of Israel’s ongoing military occupation of Palestine began October 7th 2023 when 1,143 Israelis were killed, including 767 civilians and 376 armed soldiers. Around 500 Israeli soldiers have been killed between October 7th and now – both in Gaza and on the Israeli border with Lebanon.
