Journalist Mohammed Al-Tanani from Gaza—his helmet and vest, clearly marked with 'Press,' did not protect him from the Israeli sniper.

Mohammad Al-Tanani a photojournalist was killed in Jabalia, north of the strip today. He was wearing his gear and clearly marked with PRESS.
He joins more than 130 media personnel killed by Israel in the last year.
Meanwhile, international correspondents were more concerned with being allowed in to cover GZ rather than helping protect & amplify the voices of journalists already there.
Likewise in the West Bank we are constantly demonised by international correspondents that prefer us as fixers for them rather than equal peers that actually understand & know the context better than any international reporter can.
We are facing a relentless war that targets the world and its knowledge.
We remain unwavering in our commitment to tell the stories.
Let the world know when justice prevails, & we are long gone, we reported in heartbreak and grief while being targeted, executed, taken to torture camps, shot at, bombed. While our families & most beloved were targeted, arrested, threatened, shot at, bombed.
Tell the future these stories were brought to them with our sweat & blood, and a heart that has so much faith in humanity.
Tell the world about the place where journalists were killed so journalism can live.
