On Monday, Israeli soldiers continued their invasion of the village of Haris, west of Salfit in the central West Bank, which began on Sunday night. The invasion included storming homes and a school, along with field interrogations, in addition to detaining dozens of residents.
Media sources reported that the invasion of Haris started on Sunday evening after the army surrounded the town before the soldiers began extensive and violent searches.
Omar Samara, head of the Haris Village Council, stated that the soldiers are carrying out violent searches and harassing dozens of residents.
The army also invaded Hares Boys’ Secondary School, abducting the school principal and the teaching staff, and taking them to a neighborhood for field interrogation.
The village remains surrounded and isolated, with no one able to enter or leave while the soldiers continue their invasions.
The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemned the blatant assault carried out by Israeli forces, on Monday, on Haris Secondary School for Boys, run by the Salfit Directorate of Education.
The ministry stated that the forces abducted the school principal, Hamad Naji, and three teachers: Hatem Youssef Othman Al-Shamlawi, Walid Sadiq Younis Souf, and Omar Sameeh Muhammad Ayash.
The ministry added that this assault, which terrified the students and caused damage to school property, constitutes a flagrant violation of the student’s rights to a safe and stable education and represents an attack on the sanctity of educational institutions and their noble role in building generations.
The ministry called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to stop these repeated violations and ensure the protection of educational institutions, teaching staff, and students from such assaults.
It emphasized the need for the immediate release of the abducted principal and teachers and for holding those responsible for this criminal act accountable.
