Israeli forces killed an elderly Palestinian man, on Friday, and injured at least six others, during the army’s continued aggression against the northern West Bank city of Jenin and its camp, for the third consecutive day.
On Friday evening, occupation forces killed a Palestinian man and injured at least six other citizens in various areas of the city of Jenin, including a doctor and two paramedics.
According to medical sources, Israeli forces shot and killed the elderly, Tawfiq Ahmad Younis Qandeel, 83, in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its ambulance crews transported the slain man and another injured citizen to the hospital, adding that soldiers opened fire at their ambulance.
The PRCS added that its ambulance crews also transported two other citizens who sustained live gunshot wounds, one whom soldiers shot while he was in the vicinity of the Al-Razi Hospital, and another who sustained a live gunshot wound to the leg while he was in the Jenin city center.
Meanwhile, occupation forces shot a Palestinian doctor and two PRCS paramedics, while they were working in Jenin city, late Friday afternoon.
The PRCS said that soldiers opened fire at one of their on-duty ambulances and shot Dr. Nidal Al-Arda with live ammunition in the hand, while two paramedics sustained shrapnel wounds from live rounds in their faces; all three victims were transported to hospital.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers targeted a group of journalists with live fire, on Friday afternoon, while they were covering the army’s continued incursion in the city.
At dawn Friday, a large army force continued to invade and search citizens’ homes while detaining, abusing, and interrogating them in the eastern neighborhood of the city.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers stormed several homes in the eastern neighborhood, in the vicinity of Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque, and abducted an unknown number of young men.
Before day Friday, the Israeli military assassinated three Palestinian young men in the town of Zababda, south of Jenin.
The three slain young men were identified as Maysara Suleiman Abdul Masharqa, 33, Arafat Jasser Ahmad Amer, 27, and Wissam Ayman Zidan Khazem, 30.
Before dawn Friday, at least one Israeli soldier was killed and others injured after Palestinian resistance fighters targeted military vehicles in the eastern neighborhood of the city.
Al-Jazeera quoted the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) who said their fighters in Jenin set up an ambush targeting Israeli military vehicles with an explosive device, killing an occupation soldier and injuring others.
It added that resistance fighters exchanged fire with the army in the eastern neighborhood while soldiers besieged the Khalid bin al-Walid Mosque and invaded citizens’ homes nearby.

Residents of the Jenin refugee camp say they have been under siege since the Israeli military began operations there Wednesday, with one of them saying Saturday his neighborhood had been out of electricity since the previous day because of the military's damage to infrastructure.
"The situation is difficult," said the resident. "They damaged the roads, commercial sites, the electricity. There are houses with rooms on the street that they destroyed. They're acting like they do in Gaza." The Palestinian Health Ministry said the death toll since the military began operating in the camp this week has risen to 22.
The director of the Palestinian Red Crescent rescue service in Jenin, Mahmoud al-Saadi, said Israeli troops fired at ambulances that arrived to provide medical treatment in the camp's eastern neighborhood despite their arrival being coordinated, and that in one case, a volunteer doctor was wounded in the arm.
The Red Crescent said Friday the military had fired at ambulances evacuating a fatality and a wounded person from the neighborhood. In a response to the incident, the military said: "During a counter-terrorism operation in the Jenin area, IDF forces carried out controlled explosions of charges in the area. After an initial inquiry, it emerged that during the activity, a Red Crescent ambulance passed through the area and was hit by shrapnel. We are aware of the claim that as a result, a Palestinian in the ambulance was wounded."
The forces in Jenin are part of the military operation in the northern West Bank that began on Wednesday, against the backdrop of an increase in the warnings of terror attacks. A military official said the operation is limited in scope.
Al-Saadi said the military is still conducting security checks on ambulances at two hospitals and a medical center in the camp, causing those who need regular medical treatment – like kidney dialysis, for example – to avoid going to the hospital. He said it took the Red Crescent eight hours to coordinate the transportation of a woman who needed dialysis out of the camp's eastern neighborhood.
Saadi added that when an 82-year-old man was shot in the camp on Friday, he was already dead when the Red Crescent reached him. "It's hard for the ambulances to move around, even in areas the army has already left, because of the destruction of roads and infrastructure during the operation," he said.
One resident said bread and water were being provided by civil defense services. "We're used to such situations, so we always have enough food on hand for two or three days. But without electricity, the food in the refrigerator will spoil," he said. He added that the situation in which the military operates in the camp for a few days has become a fact of life. The military has not yet commented on the claims of damage to the camp's electrical infrastructure.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the Jenin Governmental Hospital announced Saturday that it was suspending its dialysis services because of ongoing disruptions to the electricity supply.
Another Jenin resident said his family has not left the refugee camp out of fear of being shot, especially after the Red Crescent reports of ambulances coming under fire. The man said his mother had died at her home in the camp that day, and he couldn't reach her because of the military operation. "She died and her children were not with her," he said.
One of the goals set for the operation is the confiscation of at least 2,000 weapons from Palestinian villages and cities by the end of the year. The military distributed leaflets in the Jenin area with a message to residents: "When you return to your homes, you will return to much safer homes. Don't let criminals control your future."
The military also operated in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp, near Tul Karm. One military official said the activity there ended after two senior members of West Bank terrorist groups were killed, including Mohammed Jaber the commander of the local Tul Karm Battalion, who had survived several attempts by security forces to kill him in recent months.
Israeli forces also operated in the Al-Faraa refugee camp north of Nablus and concluded their activities there as well. Military officials said over the past few days, they have detected an effort by Iran and its proxies to encourage terrorist activities in the West Bank.
