Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian young man, on Friday, in the village of Abwein, north of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.
According to Mahmoud Hamad, the Mayor of the village, occupation forces shot and killed the young man, Ali Muwaffaq Mousa Mozahim, 26, with live ammunition.
Hamad said that the wounded young man was transported to a health center in the nearby village of Jiljilyya, where he was pronounced deceased, adding that the body was then transferred to the Salfit Governmental Hospital.
Medical sources with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its ambulance crews transported a young man who sustained a very serious live gunshot wound to the head.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers invaded, on Friday afternoon, the village of Abwein, north of Ramallah, triggering protests among local Palestinian youths.
On Friday evening, large crowds of mourners gathered for the funeral procession for the slain young man in the village of Abwein.
Participants carried on their shoulders the body of the slain young man, wrapped in the Palestinian flag, and marched through the streets towards his family’s home.
There loved ones said their final goodbyes, before the body was carried to the village mosque where mourners performed the funeral prayer, before laying his body to rest in the village cemetery.
In related news, occupation forces shot and killed the child, Ali Hassan Ali Rabay’a, 15, on Thursday, in the town of Meithalun, south of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces have now killed 574 Palestinian civilians, including 140 children, and injured more than 5,350 others, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
