Israeli forces invaded the northern West Bank city of Jenin twice in 24 hours, on Monday, stormed many towns and villages in the governorate, and abducted eleven Palestinians.

In the predawn hours of Monday, Israeli forces in 30 military vehicles, invaded the northern West Bank city of Jenin, sparking protests with local youths, while armed resistance fighters exchanged fire with the attacking army.

The army stormed the city from several directions and positioned sharpshooters on the rooftops of citizens’ homes and buildings, while a reconnaissance drone circled in the sky over the city.

During the operation soldiers abducted Ward Imad Zakarneh, Abdel Rahman Ahmed Zakarneh, Mahdi Salah Al-Haifawi, Muhammad Soukieh, Adwan Salim Ould Ali Salit, and Nizar Maher Turkman from the city.

Many other towns and villages in the governorate were invaded, while Israeli troops broke into and searched many citizens’ homes.

In the town of Silat ad-Dhahr, southwest of Jenin, soldiers abducted Ziad Adel Abu Ali, Adel Sami Abu Ali, and Muhammad Jabour Malalha.

From the village of Deir Abu Da’if, east of the city, the army abducted Ahmed Anwar Aliyat.

According to Montaser Sammour, the director of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Israeli soldiers abducted Thaer Jihad Zubaidi, after he was summoned for an intelligence review at the Salem Military camp, northwest of Jenin.

Occupation forces invaded the town of Ya’bad, west of the city and brutally assaulted a Palestinian young man, causing moderate injuries. He was transported to Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin for medical treatment.

On Monday evening, the army invaded the town of Ya’bad, west of the city, and the village of Zububa, to the northwest, and conducted a wide-scale search campaign of homes on the outskirts of the camp.

The army erected several a military roadblock on the Jenin-Haifa Road, and deployed soldiers in many towns and villages in the governorate, while a reconnaissance drone provided aerial surveillance.

Late Monday night, the occupation army invaded the city of Jenin with more than 50 military vehicles, including four bulldozers, which lead to protests among local Palestinian young men.

A reconnaissance drone flew overhead, while army sharpshooters were positioned on the rooftops of many homes and buildings. The army also disrupted the electricity in several neighborhoods and in the Jenin refugee camp.

Bulldozers destroyed roads and infrastructure in several areas near the camp, while resistance fighters detonated explosive devices against the military vehicles.

Reinforcements were sent in to the vicinity of Al Amal Hospital, where more sharpshooters were deployed, and soldiers stopped and searched ambulances.

According to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), “the total number of arrests after the seventh of last October rose to more than (3,540), and this total includes those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, those who were held hostage, and those who were summoned and arrested later.”
