On Thursday, paramilitary Israeli colonizers killed a Palestinian father and his son during the funeral ceremony of slain Palestinians, killed by colonizers’ fire, near the Sawiya village, east of Salfit in the central West Bank.

Media sources said the Palestinians were holding the funeral procession of Palestinians killed by paramilitary colonizers’ fire when the colonizers attacked the procession.

They stated that colonizers attacked and fired live rounds at the ambulances that carried the corpses from Salfit in the central West Bank to Qusra, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.

Medical sources have confirmed that the colonizers killed Ibrahim Ahmad Mahmoud Wadi, 63, and his son Ahmad, 25, after shooting them with live fire.

The attacks led to protests before the colonizers opened fire at the Palestinians, shooting two, including one who suffered life-threatening wounds.

The four Palestinians were killed Wednesday and have been identified as Mos’ab Abul-Halim Abu Reeda, Moath Raed Odah, Obeida Saed Abu Srour, and Hasan Mohannad Abu Srour.

In related news, Israeli colonizers shot a Palestinian in the Osh Ghorab area in Beit Sahour city, east of Bethlehem, causing a moderate gunshot wound to the thigh.

Two Palestinians Killed in Settler Attack on Ambulances, Palestinian Health Ministry Says

The Israeli army was present for part of the pre-arranged attack, and at this point it is unknown who shot two Palestinians – a father and son – to death. The ambulances attacked carried the bodies of Palestinians killed in a nearby village, with armed settlers documented in the area

Two Palestinians, a father and his son, were shot to death on Thursday in an attack by settlers in the central West Bank, according to a statement by the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The settlers arrived at the site in the village of a-Sawiya to prevent the transfer of the bodies of four Palestinians killed in another attack by settlers in the nearby village of Qusra.

Israeli army forces were present for part of the attack on Thursday, but the military said that it is not currently aware of any fire by soldiers which resulted in fatalities, and that the matter is under examination.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, settlers shot Ibrahim Ahmed Wadi, 62, and his son Ahmed Wadi, 25, on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, ambulances carrying the four people killed on Wednesday left Salfit hospital and headed toward the village of Qusra to bury them in the village. Settlers who knew of the plan to transfer the bodies, including the head of the Shomron Council, Yossi Dagan, disseminated calls since the morning in an effort to prevent passage of the ambulances.

Dozens of settlers answered the call and arrived at the entrance to the village of a-Sawiya, through which the ambulances had to pass, followed in a convoy by vehicles of the deceased’s kin and friends. Shortly after the attack, the military arrived on the scene and dispersed those present. Then the ambulances brought the dead to Qusra and the funerals commenced.

A driver in one of the buses, Bashar Qaryuti, told Haaretz: “We went down through a-Sawiya. It was coordinated with the Palestinian coordination administration. The settlers waited for us there, closed the gate, so we couldn’t pass, and began shooting at us and other people who came to the funeral. A father and his son were shot, both by settlers. And when we tried to approach them to give them first aid, the army wouldn’t let us pass, so they sent them to get treatment at the village of Qablan.

Qaryuti himself documented part of the attack from the ambulance he drove, and the video shows that the convoy’s way is blocked and much live gunfire is heard in the background. Qaryuti stressed that “The situation is going to escalate. There is great rage in Qusra over six of the village residents being killed, including a father and son.”

Another eyewitness, Mohammed a-Sawiya, added in conversation with Haaretz that “all the roads were blocked when the ambulances arrived at the entrance to the village. Groups of settlers attacked not only the ambulances but also homes at the entrance to the village with rocks. There were settlers shooting in the middle of the street. They just shot at anyone who tried to move forward.”

He added that “these attacks always happen. There was Duma, there was Hawara, in Burin, in Burka. It’s not because there’s war in Gaza and Jews were killed. No, they are evil people. The army saw and didn’t stop them.”

In the documentation from Qusra from Wednesday, masked assailants are seen shooting within the village, and a military source tells Haaretz that a military force heard shooting in the area and saw the masked men leaving the village on an ATV. The military and Shin Bet are investigating the incident.

Village resident Fouad Hassan told Haaretz on Wednesday that at two-thirty in the afternoon, eight masked settlers arrived at the south of the village, riding three ATVs. According to his testimony, they first fired on a passenger car carrying people hit by rocks and being evacuated to a clinic. Then, says Hassan, the settlers came to one of the village homes, threw rocks at it and shot at its occupants.
