Israeli forces shot six Palestinian young men, injured dozens more, and abducted one, on Thursday evening, after besieging a Palestinian-owned home in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

The army invaded the Rafidia neighborhood in the western part of the city, and besieged a Palestinian-owned home where a leader of the armed resistance group, the “Lion’s Den” was present.

Media sources said that occupation forces fired missiles at the home, in addition to firing many live rounds, rubber-coated steel rounds, and tear gas canisters at local Palestinians who protested the incursion.

Dozens of Palestinian young men hurled rocks at the armored vehicles, while resistance fighters exchanged fire with the army, and employed crude explosive devices against the armored vehicles.

The fierce resistance from armed Palestinian fighters and local youths required military reinforcements.

Soldiers abducted a leader of the “Lion’s Den” resistance group, Khaled Tubilah “Al-Baladi”, after trapping him inside the besieged home in the Rafidia neighborhood.

According to Ahmed Jibril, the director of the Ambulance and Emergency Center at the Red Crescent in Nablus, one young man was shot with live rounds, one with shrapnel (bullet fragments), while four were shot with rubber-coated steel rounds.

Furthermore, it was reported that 2 young men were run over by military vehicles, 4 sustained injuries as a result of falls, and at least 130 young men sustained inhalation injuries from exposure to tear gas.

He said that an elderly woman was trapped in the besieged home until after the army withdrawal, and subsequently suffered a severe anxiety attack, in addition to being struck in the hand by a tear gas canister.

Jibril added that occupation forces prevented ambulances from reaching the besieged area until after their withdrawal, delaying the transfer of the injured woman to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus.
