On Friday morning, Israeli soldiers closed the Qalandia terminal, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank, increased their deployment around Al-Aqsa Mosque, and installed roadblocks ahead of Friday prayers.

Eyewitnesses said the army closed the Qalandia terminal, preventing hundreds of Palestinians from crossing, and interrogated many residents while inspecting their ID cards.

They added that the closure caused traffic jams extending hundreds of meters and started ordering the Palestinians to leave.

Furthermore, hundreds of soldiers and police officers were deployed in various parts of the Old City, especially around Al-Aqsa Mosque and at its gates, and assaulted several worshippers trying to enter the holy site.

It is worth mentioning that Israel decided to impose a tight siege on the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and closed all border terminals in the Gaza Strip to celebrate the Jewish New Year.
