Israeli occupation forces shot and killed, on Friday, a Palestinian child, and seriously injured a young man during protests in the village of Um Safa, northwest of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, the Ministry of Health confirmed.

Local sources reported that Israeli soldiers invaded the central West Bank village of Um Safa, northwest of Ramallah, which sparked protests among the local Palestinian youths.

Palestinians threw rocks at the armored military vehicles, while the army opened fire with live ammunition, concussion grenades and tear gas canisters, causing 2 critical injuries and caused many citizens to suffer the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation.

Two Palestinians sustained serious injuries, one of whom was shot with a live round in the head, while another was shot in the abdomen with live ammunition, both shooting victims were transported to the Istishari Hospital in the village.

Shortly after his arrival to the hospital, medical staff pronounced the death of a Palestinian teenager who was brought in with a critical gunshot wound to the head, inflicted on him by the Israeli military.

The Ministry of Health identified the slain child as Muhammad Fouad Atta Al-Bayed, 17, from the al-Jalazoun refugee camp, northwest of Ramallah.

A 17-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed on Friday during clashes with the Israel Defense Forces in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The incident occurred in the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah. The ministry said the victim, later identified as Muhammad al-Bayed, was shot in the head and taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Another Palestinian was shot and wounded during the clash.

The Israeli army said the soldiers opened fire at Palestinians who were throwing rocks at them. Earlier in the day, an Israeli soldier was lightly wounded by an explosive device during clashes with Palestinians near Hebron. Two Border Police officers were injured as well.

The deadly incident in Umm Safa comes at the end of a week of numerous violent incidents between Palestinians and the IDF. A 19-year-old was shot and killed overnight into Thursday in clashes that erupted between Israeli troops and Nablus residents when thousands of Jewish worshipers, including Israel's police chief, entered the town to pray at the site of Josephs Tomb.

The deceased, Bader Sami Masri, was shot near the tomb and succumbed to his wounds at a Nablus hospital, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
