Illegal Israeli colonists attacked, on Thursday evening, the Palestinian village of Kobar, northwest of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank, and injured one man, a local official reported.
According to Shawkat al-Barghouti, the mayor of Kobar village, stated that at least 100 settlers from the illegal “Nahliel” settlement, built on expropriated Palestinian lands of Beitlo and Al-Janiyah villages, invaded the southwestern “Al-Batin” area of the village.
Al-Barghouti added that the settlers, protected by the occupation army, threw stones at Palestinians resulting in one man being injured in the face with a stone.
Local mosques called residents over their loudspeakers to gather at the “Al-Batin” area to confront the illegal colonizers, altercations ensued between the Palestinians and the invading settlers.
It is important to note that this is the second consecutive day that Israeli settlers stormed the village, the mayor confirmed.
On Wednesday evening, settlers invaded the “Al-Batin” area, and set up a residential tent and water tanks, in an attempt to establish an illegal settlement outpost.
Residents were able to resist the attack, and drove the settlers out of the village, just before the occupation army arrived and fired tear gas canisters at the Palestinians defending their lands.
No injuries were reported.
