Palestinian medical sources said the surgeons had to remove the eye of a Palestinian child, five years of age, after Israeli soldiers shot him with a rubber-coated steel bullet in his father’s car, near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The sources at the Najah Hospital in Nablus said the child, Khaled Akram Malalha, 5, was injured Friday when the soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets at his father’s car while driving near Bazaria village, northwest of Nablus.

The child was immediately rushed to the Najah Hospital, where the doctors performed scans and tried to save his eye, but the bullet caused extensive damage to the eye and the nerves.
