Israeli police confronted hundreds of protesters in the northern Arab city of Umm al-Fahm late Wednesday night. Police fired stun grenades and arrested five minors.
During the clashes, demonstrators threw stones on the city’s main road and managed to expose an undercover Israeli police officer, at one point surrounding him before the officer shot his pistol in the air to clear the crowd.
In another demonstration on Wednesday, Arab protesters rallied in the city of Haifa with the police confronting the crowd as Palestinian flags were raised. One protester was lightly wounded and one was arrested. Demonstrations were also held at the northern Arab towns of Reineh and Kafr Manda.
