On Monday dawn, the Israeli army fired many missiles and shells, targeting several areas in the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip, and alleged it was “retaliating to a shell fired from Gaza.”
Media sources said the army fired missiles into several areas in Gaza City, especially southeast of Gaza.
They added that the missiles caused damage to several homes and buildings and anxiety attacks among the children.
The army also fired at least three missiles into farmlands and a building in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza, causing damage.
Furthermore, the army fired at least two shells into a building east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, causing serious property damage.
The Israeli military claimed it was retaliating to a shell reportedly fired from Gaza at dawn and intercepted by the Iron Dome interception system.
Israeli Ynet News said Israeli military officials told its correspondent Sunday that the army did not retaliate to a shell allegedly fired from Gaza Saturday night “because the conditions did not allow it” and that the military “will retaliate at the right time.”
On Sunday evening, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of a Palestinian child, Qussai Radwan Waked, 14, who was shot by Israeli soldiers at noon in Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, and said the soldiers also injured two Palestinians.
