NABLUS (Ma’an) -- A farmer was injured on Monday after being attacked by settlers in the northern West Bank, a PA official said.
Ayman Loay, 24, was moderately injured near Yizhar settlement when a settler threw rocks at him, Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settler activity in the northern West Bank, said.
Settlers attacked the farmer as he tended to his land in the village of Iraq Burin, south of Nablus.
He was transferred to Rufaida hospital in Nablus to be treated for head injuries.
The Nablus district experienced the majority of settler violence last year, according to Washington based-think tank the Palestine Center.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that settler attacks increased by 50 percent in 2011 compared to the previous year.
