A 14-year-old Jewish girl was hit in the head by gunshot in the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba near Hebron on Thursday evening. The girl was taken to Hadassah University Hospital in Ein Karem in critical condition and underwent surgery overnight.

The girl remains in serious but stable condition. A doctor who treated the girl initial treatment said that the girl's sister said she "received a strong blow to the head from an unknown source."

An Israeli military source said that ballistic testing showed the bullet was fired from above. Further investigation has raised the suspicion that the impact was from a stray bullet, which was confirmed to have been fired during wedding celebrations in Hebron.

This follows last's week murder of Ronen Hanania in Kiryat Arba, who was shot along with three other residents of the town, including his son. The other victims were moderately injured. The shooter, a resident of Hebron, was killed by Israeli security forces when he decided to return to the scene with his weapon after initially fleeing.

On Thursday, Israeli sources reported that a teenage Israeli girl was shot and seriously injured in what they called “unclear circumstances” in the illegal Kiryat Arba colony in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

The sources said Israel medics rushed to the colony and took the unconscious girl, who was first moved to a clinic in the colony, to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem.

According to Israeli media, the girl was likely hurt by a stray bullet, adding that it seems that the bullet was fired by a Palestinian into the air somewhere in Hebron before it landed on the girl, striking her in the head.

The Israeli army initiated a search in the area after invading many surrounding Palestinian neighborhoods.

On Thursday, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians, including a child, and injured at least four others, in Jenin and Jenin refugee camp, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The two have been identified as Farouq Jamil Hasan Salama, 28, and Mohammad Samer Khallouf, 14.

Earlier Thursday, the soldiers killed two Palestinians, Amer Halabiyya, 20, from Beit Hanina, and Daoud Mahmoud Rayyan, 42, from Beit Duqqu, near occupied Jerusalem.

A day earlier, on November 2nd, the soldiers killed Habes Abdul-Hafith Rayyan, 54, after shooting him at a military roadblock west of Ramallah in the central part of the occupied West Bank.
