On Thursday dawn, Israeli soldiers invaded Jenin, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, and abducted many Palestinians, including women, from their homes, leading to protests and exchanges of fire between the invading troops and Palestinian fighters.
Palestinian fighters exchanged fire with the invading soldiers in several parts of Jenin, especially in the Al-Hadaf neighborhood and Jenin refugee camp.
The Israeli army said one soldier was injured during the exchanges of fire with the Palestinian fighters and added that the army also detained several Palestinians.
Several Palestinian protesters also hurled Molotov cocktails and pipe bombs at the invading military vehicles.
According to the Israeli army, the abducted Palestinians are related to the young men reportedly responsible for a shooting targeting a bus filled with Israeli soldiers Sunday.
The abducted Palestinians are Abdul-Salam Ghawadra Turkman, his wife Inshirah, Ahmad Ghawadra and his mother, and Walid Ghawadra Turkman and his wife.
The army said five soldiers and the driver of the bus were injured in the shooting; The injuries of two soldiers were described as moderate (including the driver, who sustained a gunshot wound to the face), and the other four had injuries that were described by medical personnel as ‘mild.’
