Updated: At dawn Tuesday, the Israeli occupation army initiated a massive offensive into Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, killing three Palestinian and injuring at least 40 Palestinians, including four who suffered serious wounds, in addition to attacking medics and firing shells at one home.
Update: The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the soldiers killed three Palestinians, Ibrahim Nabulsi, 30, Islam Sbouh, 22, and Hussein Jamal Taha, 16.
The Al-Aqsa Brigades of the Fateh movement said Nabulsi and Sbhouh were among its senior fighters, adding that Israel has been trying to kill them for a while.
Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Nablus, said hundreds of soldiers in many armored vehicles and jeeps invaded the Eastern neighborhood and the Old City.
He added that dozens of Palestinians protested the invasion before the army started firing a barrage of live rounds, in addition to rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.
The soldiers fired shells at a home they surrounded in the Old City of Nablus, killing three Palestinians, and wounding many others, including one in a very critical condition.
Many Palestinian resistance fighters also exchanged fire with the invading soldiers in the Old City and several parts of the city.
Jibril said the soldiers shot at least forty Palestinians, including four who suffered critical injuries and added that they also fired live rounds at Palestinian ambulances and prevented many medics from entering the areas it was invading.
He also said that the medics tried to reach a woman the soldiers shot, but the army prevented them from reaching her.
The Health Ministry said that two wounded Palestinians, including four in serious condition, were rushed to the Arab Specialty Hospital, and two, including one who was critically injured, were moved to the Najah Hospital.
Mosques in the city were using loudspeakers calling on the Palestinians who could reach hospitals to head there and donate blood due to the large numbers of wounded residents.
The soldiers imposed tight sieges on several neighborhoods, especially al-Habala, Faqqous and Sheikh Mosallam, closed many streets, mainly Faisal and Hittin, and broke into many buildings before stationing their sharpshooters, who fired many live rounds at the Palestinians.
A local Radio station, Shabab FM, announced that it had to stop its broadcast after the soldiers targeted it with many live rounds in the Old City of Nablus.

Israeli military forces killed Palestinian militant Ibrahim al-Nabulsi on Tuesday following a prolonged exchange of fire, along with another militant and a 16-year-old. At least 40 others were injured, including four in serious and critical condition, according to Palestinian reports.
Both the Israeli military and the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that al-Nabulsi, an Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade member, was killed alongside Islam Sabouh and 16-year-old Hussein Jamal Taha during the raid that sparked several clashes across the West Bank city.
IDF forces surrounded the house of al-Nabulsi on Tuesday morning as armed militants barricaded themselves inside and shot at the Israeli soldiers. In a video circulated on social media al-Nabulsi declares: "Don't put down your weapons, I'm under siege and going to become a martyr."
A large number of explosives and weapons were found where al-Nabulsi was staying, according to the Shin Bet security service.
Al-Nabulsi was suspected in numerous shooting incidents targeting Israeli soldiers and had eluded several previous arrest attempts.
Protests erupted in Hebron following his killing, as well as in other areas of the West Bank. In Jerusalem, a strike was announced for 2 P.M. The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that one man was critically wounded in his chest during clashes that erupted between protesters and the Israeli army.
Prime Minister Yair Lapid praised the killing of al-Nablusi, saying the event is "another step in our uncompromising fight against terrorism. I welcome the combined action of the security organizations, the Shin Bet, the IDF and the Israel Police, which resulted in a targeted action with great success and without casualties."
Defense Minister Benny Gantz similarly commended the assassination, adding in a statement that Israel "will continue to act with precision and force against terrorism on all fronts, and against anyone who threatens Israelis. Whoever threatens [us] — will cease to exist."
Public Security Minister Omer Bar-Lev also issued a statement following the assassination, in which he praised the cooperation between Israel's security forces. "Just as in [recent Gaza operation] Breaking Dawn, we will continue to initiate actions against anyone who seeks to hurt us, at any time and any place," the statement reads.
"The Palestinian Authority has tried peace and negotiations, but after 27 years, the Israeli governments have turned more extreme and did not provide any rights to Palestinians," al-Nablusi's father, Alaa al-Nablusi, said on Tuesday, adding that Ibrahim sought to be present wherever the Israeli army was. "This was his fate and message to young people, he conveyed it in a recording to follow his heritage and not let go of weapon."
In July, Israeli forces entered Nablus to arrest him, on suspicion of shooting at soldiers and civilians at the entrance to Joseph's Tomb. They fired missiles at a house where they suspected he was hiding, but he managed to escape. During the raid, two Palestinians were killed. According to the police, they, alongside other militants, fired at the Israeli forces.
The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Fatah, stated that the men, Muhammad Al-Azizi, 25, and Abed al-Rahman Sobah, 28, were members of the group. Thousands, including hundreds of armed men and al-Nabulsi, attended the burial of the two men in Nablus.
In February, al-Nabulsi managed to evade arrest when Israeli forces entered Nablus and killed three members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades in a shootout that ensued when they attempted to arrest them.
The director of Nablus' Rafidia hospital confirmed that the hospital is treating 20 individuals who were injured in the shootout, one of them in critical condition. The Red Crescent said it is treating thirty wounded, most of whom are in moderate to serious condition.
