Medical sources have confirmed, Friday, that Israeli soldiers injured 320 Palestinians, including some who suffered life-threatening wounds, during protests in Sbeih Mountain in Beita town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Emergency Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has reported that the soldiers shot 21 Palestinians with live fire, and added that some of the wounded suffered serious wounds.
He stated that the soldiers also shot a photojournalist, identified as Ayman Nubani, who works for the Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA), with a sponge-tipped bullet in the thigh.
He also said that the soldiers also shot 68 Palestinians with the rubber-coated steel bullets, in addition to causing 195 residents to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
Eleven Palestinians suffered burns from the Israeli gas bombs and concussion grenades, and 25 sustained lacerations and bruises while the soldiers were chasing them.
Jibril also said that the soldiers opened fire at two Palestinian ambulances, causing damage.
Beita has been witnessing constant protests, and repeated Israeli military invasions and violations since the illegal Israeli colonizers occupied the top of Sbeih Mountain and installed an outpost they named “Avitar.”
Following ongoing protests, the colonists left the outpost on July 2nd, but it was not dismantled. During these protests, the soldiers killed five Palestinians and injured hundreds.
The outpost was installed in May of this year after the colonists kept trying to build a colony on the Palestinian lands five times in the last 30 years.
The Mountain, owned by the Palestinians, has significant strategic importance, especially since if it is occupied by the colonizers the colony would lead to the annexation of 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands, and would also lead to the isolation of a large area of Palestinian lands.

Israeli soldiers attacked, Friday, a nonviolent procession in Sbeih Mountain, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, wounding four Palestinians, including a cameraman working for the WAFA Palestinian News Agency, and caused many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.
Ahmad Jibril, the head of the Ambulance and Emergency Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Nablus, said the soldiers shot four Palestinians with live fire and added that one of them suffered a severe injury.
Jibril stated that the soldiers also shot Palestinian photojournalist Ayman Nubani with a sponge-tipped bullet in the thigh.
Beita has been witnessing ongoing protests over the past two months after the illegal Israeli colonialist settlers installed an outpost, they named Gival Avitar, on the top of Sbeih Mountain in early May.
The ongoing protests forced the colonists to leave the outpost on June 2nd, however, the attempts to take over more than 20 Dunams of Palestinian lands never ceased.
During the ongoing protests, the soldiers killed five Palestinians and injured hundreds, including many who suffered serious wounds.
In related news, the soldiers injured seven Palestinians and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation during the weekly nonviolent procession against the Israeli colonialist activities in Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus.
