Israeli soldiers abducted, Thursday, a Palestinian child from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in the occupied capital Jerusalem, and moved her to an interrogation facility.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers abducted Nofouth Hammad, 14, at the entrance of the neighborhood, before taking her for interrogation at a Police station in Salahuddin Street, in Jerusalem.
They added that the child was participating in recreational activity in the neighborhood and was drawing the Palestinian flags with washable paint on the cheeks of her friends when the soldiers abducted her.
The attack is part of the constant Israeli violations in Sheikh Jarrah, especially amidst the Israeli plans to displace and remove the indigenous Palestinians to replace them with illegal colonialist settlers.
28 Palestinian families are living in Sheikh Jarrah; they moved there when they were forced out of their homes and lands during the Nakba of 1948, when Israel was established in the historic land of Palestine, after ethnically cleansing hundreds of towns and villages.

In the embattled neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah on Thursday, Israeli military police for the city of Jerusalem snatched a 14-year old girl for the alleged ‘crime’ of flying a Palestinian flag. This comes just days after the Israeli military police in Jerusalem beat and arrested another child for allegedly mounting the Palestinian flag on his bicycle.
According to local sources, the child, identified as 14-year-old Nafth Hammad, was part of a recreational program for children in the neighborhood.
When Israeli militarized police arrived to break up the activity, the girl reportedly held a Palestinian flag, which infuriated the soldiers and led to them assaulting and arresting her.
She was taken to the Israeli police station on Salah El-Din Street in Jerusalem for interrogation. Her parents were not informed, and she was not given access to legal counsel.
