QALQILIYA (Ma’an) -- Israeli forces detained nine people overnight Monday, including two men released as part of the prisoner swap between Hamas and Israel in October 2011.

Three people were detained in Qalqiliya, one north of Ramallah, three in Beit Ummar, one in Yatta, Hebron, and one near Jericho, an Israeli army spokeswoman said.

Abdul Rahman Ahmad Ishteiwi and Mahmoud Adnan Mahmou Salim were arrested in Qalqiliya, director of the Palestinian prisoners society in the city said.

Lafi Nasoura called their arrest "provocative."

Both men were freed from Israeli jails as part of a prisoner swap which saw over 1,000 Palestinians freed in exchange for captured solider Gilad Shalit.
