Israeli soldiers invaded, on Thursday evening, Beit Ummar town, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and caused many Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation. The soldiers also abducted one Palestinian at a military roadblock.

Mohammad Awad, a local media activist, said the soldiers invaded ‘Aseeda area in the town, before storming and ransacking homes, in addition to occupying rooftops to use them as monitoring towers.

Awad added that the invasion led to protests and that the soldiers fired several live rounds and gas bombs at the Palestinians.

Many residents, including those in their homes, suffered the effects of teargas inhalation before receiving the needed treatment by local medics.

In related news, the soldiers invaded several neighborhoods in Hebron, before storming and ransacking the home of a journalist, identified as Raed Abu Rmeila, in the southern area of the city.

The soldiers also invaded and searched the home of Mahmoud Salem al-Hroush, in Yatta town, south of Hebron.

In addition, the soldiers installed roadblocks near the entrances of Bani Neim and Halhoul towns, east and north of Hebron, before stopping and searching dozens of cars, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

Furthermore, the soldiers abducted Jom’a al-Jojo, after stopping him at a military roadblock, near Gush Etzion Junction, north of Hebron, after forcing him out of his car.

The Palestinian is the son of Nahedh al-Jojo, a Palestinian Lieutenant who was killed by the army in October 2001.
