The Israeli Air Force fired, on Monday at dawn, several missiles into areas in Khan Younis and Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, causing damage.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) has reported that an Israeli drone fired at least two missiles into an area, west of Khan Younis.
WAFA added that the same site was targeted again, shortly after the first strike, by Israeli F16 fighter jets.
The site, which is apparently run by an armed resistance group, sustained damage, before fire and rescue teams rushed to the area.
In addition, an Israeli drone fired a missile into a farmland east of the al-Qarara town, northeast of Khan Younis.
Furthermore, the army fired at least one missile into another site, located west of Rafah, causing serious damage.
The Israeli army said it was retaliating to a shell, which was reportedly fired from Gaza for the first time since early July, and was intercepted by the Iron Dome system, and that fragments of the interceptor missile caused damage to one car.
It added that one of its targets was a cement factory, which is allegedly used to the construction of underground facilities used by the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas movement in the coastal enclave.
