Israeli settlers torched, on Saturday morning, Palestinian-owned crops of olive trees in the town of Huwara, south of Nablus city, in the northern West Bank, the Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported.
Ghassan Daghlas, a local activist, said that illegal settlers from the Yitzhar settlement, set fire to dozens of olive trees, causing extensive damage.
Olive crops are a main source of income to thousands of Palestinian families, and a frequent target of Israeli settlers, who’s goal it is to force the Palestinians to give up their land and leave the area.
Daghlas, an official monitor of Israeli settlement activities in the area, noted a surge in settlers’ attacks against Palestinian civilians and property in the Nablus area.
On Friday, Israeli colonists stormed the streets of Wadi al-Husain, east of Hebron city, and threatened Palestinian civilians, with death and expulsion.
