Marking the first day of reopening the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, after seventy days of closure due to coronavirus concerns, Israeli soldiers and police officers accompanied dozens of illegal colonialist settlers in a provocative tour into the courtyards of the holy site, and abducted four Palestinians, including two women.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said the soldiers abducted Nasser Qous, the head of the Jerusalem office of the PPS, in addition to two women identified as Randa Sa’id, and a journalist, Sondos Oweis, and a young man, Abada Najeeb.

Qous was interrogated and was released after receiving an order preventing him from entering the holy site for one week.

The female journalist, Sondos Oweiss, was interrogated and was released after receiving an order preventing her from entering the holy site for one week, in addition to being ordered to return after that for further interrogation, and the possibility of extending the ban order.

The PPS added that the invasions and provocative tour into the holy site marked the first day of reopening the mosque, under social distancing guidelines, after it was closed due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus.

The invasion was led by the fanatic colonialist settler, former Member of Knesset, Likud party member Agriculture Minister Yehuda Glick.

The colonists held provocative tours into the courtyards of the holy site, while the soldiers and the police were pushing the Palestinians around and forcing them to leave.
