HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces detained three Palestinians in the Hebron district early Sunday, locals told Ma'an.
Soldiers raided Beit Ummar at dawn, detaining two people, spokesman of the town's popular committee Mohammad Ayyad Awad told Ma'an.
Forces ransacked the house of Fathi Fakhri Ikhlil and ordered him and his two sons outside the house for an hour and a half, before his eldest son Nasser, 23, returned from work, Awad said.
The soldiers then detained Nasser before raiding another home in the Wadi al-Sheik neighborhood, he added.
They then detained Muhammad, 20, from his father's home, Awad added. Clashes broke out during the detention raid, with some residents throwing stones at the soldiers, he said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said one soldier was lightly injured during the detention of the two in Beit Ummar.
Forces also detained Fareed Hmidan al-Owewi, 26, in Hebron city, locals said. The army spokeswoman said she was not aware of a detention in Hebron.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses told Ma'an Israeli forces shut the military checkpoint at the entrance to al-Fawwar refugee camp southwest of Hebron on Sunday, causing long traffic jams.
The army spokeswoman said she was not aware of any unusual activity at the checkpoint.
